New Claude Code Restrictions Coming! Effective August 28
💡 Main Changes
Starting August 28, Claude Code paid plans will add two new weekly limits that reset every 7 days, in addition to the existing 5-hour reset limits.
🎯 Restriction Details
Existing Limits - Reset Every 5 Hours
Applies to all paid users, remains consistent with previous terms
Weekly Total Limit - Resets Every 7 Days
Sets limits on total model usage time for the week, expected to affect less than 5% of high-consumption users, with no impact on other users' experience
Weekly Opus 4 Limit - Resets Every 7 Days
Additional restrictions on usage time for the most advanced model Claude Opus 4, preventing a small number of users from continuous 24×7 calling
💰 Typical Weekly Limits by Plan
🟡 Pro Plan ($20/month)
- Sonnet 4 regular model: approximately 40-80 hours/week
🟢 Max Plan ($100-200/month)
- Sonnet 4 usage time: approximately 240-480 hours/week
- Opus 4 usage time: approximately 24-40 hours/week
📝 Notes
The above values are typical weekly quotas for most users without changing current code scale and usage patterns. Actual limits may vary based on codebase size and number of parallel calls
